Thinking through formaldehyde as toxic preserving medium, Marijke Vasey and Bea Acevedo engage in an exploration of materiality as performative gesture that mediates between the bodily and its environment. This exploration is particularly concerned with a process of reformulation as feedback-loop between construction and destruction.

Suspicious Minds: Collaborative Painting Experiments

Alison Goodyear will be running painting experiments over the course of the week with a few select abstract painters and with members of the public who wish to join in. She says: “I will be looking at how we negotiate during process. Will we need rules? Or will a system emerge? How will this develop those who have an established painting practice? And ultimately how will the work turn out when an aesthetic is shared/challenged or compromised?”
