For many years artists have asked Jean Haines where they can get an easel like the one she uses in her workshops and videos. Jackson’s have commissioned an easel based on the original design and now The Jean Haines Easel is available exclusively at Jackson’s Art Supplies.
Well-known watercolour artist Jean Haines‘ own personal table easel was made for her when she lived in Dubai. It was purposely designed to take a half or quarter sheet of paper with ease. Jackson’s have commissioned an easel based on the original design with Jean Haines giving input all the way through the design and building process. The Jean Haines Easel is available exclusively at Jackson’s Art Supplies.
Jean Haines says: ‘I hadn’t realised this was a problem, finding a table easel of this size, until I returned to Europe and started teaching watercolour courses there. Artists attending my courses repeatedly asked me where they could buy an easel like mine. I tried sourcing one unsuccessfully. Jackson’s came to the rescue and created one with measurements as close to my old easel as possible and now everyone who wants one can buy a table easel at a great price just like mine! Yes, there are many easels available on the market but mine is light, easy to carry but more importantly takes the paper sizes I create on perfectly. Other easels are too small, only taking smaller size paper which isn’t really how I work.’
The Jean Haines easel will accommodate a board up to 60cm in height. The easel folds flat for storage or transport to only 8.5cm deep.
The Jean Haines easel can be set at various degrees of steep-ness, jean likes to use it leaned back quite far at a shallow angle. Jean says: “I work at a slight angle and most easels are not suitable, as they have too steep an angle.”
