Brilliant metallic colour in a versatile paint!
Roberson Liquid Metals are creamy acrylic colours that can be used on most surfaces including plaster, wood, paper & canvas. The rich, deep colour gives the appearance of metal but it will not tarnish and is not required to be varnished.
The 24 colour range includes 13 shades of gold, brass and bronze; eight shades of silver, pewter and platinum; a steel, a graphite and an interference, glittery colour (called Twinkle).
All colours are intermixable with each other and other acrylic paints. When mixed they add both their colour and their sparkle to other acrylic paints.
The colours are all transparent but in thicker applications they can cover quite well. The paints can be thinned with water and as the paint becomes more transparent the metallic shimmer is still visible. Clean up is with soap and water. If you intend to paint large things, the pots list the paint’s coverage as: 7 square metres per litre.

These are just 8 of the colours in the range of Roberson Liquid Metals. I have painted two lines of each: the top line is painted quite thickly and the second line has a lot of water mixed in so is very thin.
I have painted them over both white and a dark backgrounds to demonstrate the opacity and transparency and coverage.

Five of the colours, straight paint at the top of each swatch with more water added as you go down.
Left to right: Silver, Imperial Gold, Royal Gold, Autumn Gold and Graphite.
Note how the Autumn Gold has had some of the red-brown separate in the very watery version, this separation could be used to an interesting effect in wet-in-wet applications.

Metallic colours are hard to photograph, this shows the same colour chart at two angles so you can see the shine.
Great Colour Mixing Possibilities

Roberson Liquid Metal Royal Gold mixed with heavy body acrylic in Phthalo Blue.
The mix appears both metallic and a lovely green shade.
Speciality Colours
Two of the 24 colour range are slightly different to the rest and have slightly different prices:
Twinkle:
This variation of liquid metals produces colour changing effects with a hint of glitter. The use of different backgrounds will change the effects, for example dark backgrounds will show the glitter properties whereas light backgrounds provide a colour changing effect dependant on angle of view. It can be added to other colours to create a range of interesting effects.
Solid Silver:
This variation of Liquid Metals differs from other silver shades within the range as it contains aluminium particles – this makes the liquid metal more opaque to provide excellent coverage.
